ETTIQUETTE

Before Your Tattoo:

-A tattoo is a permanent medical procedure that can be stressful on the body at some times, in order to minimize discomfort please be well rested, fed, and shower before arriving
-Avoid too much alcohol the night before as it can make your blood thinner often resulting in complications with healing.
-Please do not consume any drugs or alcohol prior to your appointment. For prescription medications, it is best to consult your doctor and artist prior to scheduling an appointment.
-Bringing a snack or some juice will help keep your blood sugar up during your appointment, and during longer sessions there may be a short break for lunch and it is recomended to have some food with you to avoid exposing your new tattoo to any contaminents outside the shop.
-Please wear (or bring) loose clothing that allows your artist to access the location being tattooed and you to be comfortable for however long the appointment takes.
-Arrive a few minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork and don’t forget your ID. If you know you’re going to be late, phone the studio as soon as possible.

During The Tattoo:

-It is best to ask your artist’s permission before taking pictures during the procedure.
-If you like distracting yourself with movies or music during your appointment please bring headphones.
-You are welcome to bring a friend or family member for company, but we ask that only one person be in the booth with you at any given time.

FAQ

Aftercare Instructions2018-09-29T12:08:12+00:00

Removing Ultraderm:

(Ultraderm is a medical grade adhesive that acts as a second skin during the healing process. Your artist will advise you to keep this on for 24-72 hours. If you notice a reaction remove immediately.)   We recommend removing after a warm shower.

  • Wash your hands and ensure a clean environment
  • Lifting from a corner, peel down slowly with the direction of hair growth
  • Be gentle! This isn’t always a comfortable experience

* If you are allergic to latex or adhesive the artist will place a bandage on you. Keep this on for up to 6 hours if possible. After removing wash and care for your tattoo regularly

Washing Tattoo:

(wash your tattoo at least 4x daily for the first 10 days)

  • Gently wash tattoo with a mild unscented soap or unscented sensitive baby wipes.
  • Pat skin dry with a paper towel or a soft, clean towel, air dry remaining moisture

Apply Moisturizer:

( we recommend using Webber Vitamin E ointment which can be found in Walmart’s pharmacy section, or a gentle, unscented moisturizer such as Lubriderm or Aveeno)

  • apply a thin layer of ointment, enough to make it shiny, not enough to make it greasy
  • wipe away excess product to ensure your skin can breathe

DO NOT soak your tattoo for the first 10 days, no hot tubbing, swimming, etc. Avoid salt water and chlorine for 6 weeks.

DO NOT use products such as Vaseline or polysporin, etc. during the healing process

DO NOT expose your tattoo to sunlight for 6 weeks

DO NOT pick or scratch at your tattoo

Additional Tips:

  • Wear loose clothing that will allow your tattoo to breathe for the first 6 weeks
  • If your tattoo is feeling itchy, tight or dry apply moisturizer more frequently
How much are touch ups?2018-07-19T16:33:48+00:00

Most touch-ups will cost a supply fee of $20. Any touch-up on hands, feet, or neck will fall under our normal shop rate of $160 per hour.

What is your shop rate?2018-09-29T12:01:18+00:00

Our rate ranges between artists from $130-$160 per hour. Any tattoo a half hour or under will be charged our shop minimum of $100.

How long will it take?2018-07-19T16:34:05+00:00

Again, this depends on the size and detail of the tattoo. If you have to be somewhere; a meeting, school, work; it’s best to rebook your other appointment. Nobody wants a rushed tattoo!

Does it hurt?2018-07-19T16:34:12+00:00

Pain is relative. Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. However, it does hurt, just not much, people wouldn’t be returning again and again for tattoo after tattoo if it did happen to hurt too much.

When will my design be drawn?2018-07-19T16:34:20+00:00

Many people ask if we draw the designs ahead of time. Usually, they are ready the day of the tattoo appointment. If you would like your drawing ahead of time or if significant time is required for you drawing, a separate fee may be required.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?2018-07-19T16:34:26+00:00

The youngest we tattoo is 18 years of age. No exceptions sorry.

What can I do to best prepare for my tattoo?2018-07-19T16:34:34+00:00

Please bathe/shower and pop a breath mint. Eat a good meal within two hours of your tattoo appointment. No alcohol 24 hours before your tattoo. Avoid caffeine and energy drinks the day of your tattoo. Getting tattooed when you are sick, post or pre-surgery or very stressed out is not ideal. Furthermore, people with compromised immune systems (e.g. diabetes, Hepatitis, HIV) typically take longer to heal.

Do you do piercings?2018-07-19T16:34:40+00:00

Apologies, we no longer offer piercing services.

Do you take debit or credit?2018-07-19T16:34:46+00:00

Yes! We accept debit and credit as well as cash.
